What is Youngstown Kiwanis?

The Kiwanis Club of Youngstown, Ohio, is part of Division 21 of the Ohio District of Kiwanis International.  It was the 15th club to be established in Kiwanis International and the 1st club in Division 21.  Chartered in 1916, it is the oldest and largest club in the area.

The Kiwanis motto, "Serving the Children of the World," is taken to heart by the members of the "Downtown Youngstown" club.  A few of our service projects include contributing to the Children's Museum, supporting children's fireworks at First Night Youngstown and supporting the Boys and Girls Club of Youngstown.  We recently purchased 10 pediatric trauma boards to be distributed to local ambulance companies so that small children in our area can be safely and securely transported to the hospital after a major injury.  We are also very active with the Youngstown City Schools and support several Sponsored Youth organizations as well as 2 Cub Scout Packs withing the school system.  All of our activities are supported by our Annual Radio Auction fundraiser, which is a major event in the Youngstown area.

We have a diversified membership - male, female, young, old, business owners, agency directors, sales representatives, executives, attorneys, among others.  Our club gives members an opportunity not only to network and expand a contact base, but also to become more involved and more aware of issues that affect the Youngstown community.  We are constantly working to expand and diversify our membership by seeking out the best and the brightest individuals who take a true interest in improving the quality of life in this area.  We are and will continue to be the premier service organization in the Mahoning Valley area.
